Dipped In Melanin – Melaslay.

When did you last love your skin? Genuinely love your skin regardless of the shade of your skin color ?  To feel confident to feel the melanin all dipped sun kissed dark shade of your skin tone.

I have always  loved  my skin not knowing it as melanin all I knew was ” Mweusi Kama giza”,  I am dark though others call it chocolate  others am abit light shaded 😑 but to others I am as dark as the night. Which I deeply love,  nothing describes better my relationship with my skin than the smile that I have now when I look at it ♥.

With all this in mind,  in comes make Up and application finding the right shade for women of color had to be one hell of a nightmare. Though with so much uproar from international super models like Nykhor Paul who are darker than I much changes seems to be incoming. We have diversity in make up that caters for the dark skin.

For this Actual shoot it was all a matter of finding the comfort in not only the make up but engaging and bringing out the melanin or should I now call myself woman of color 😊.

It was amazing to collaborate with an amazing Make Up Artist Byegon Hockler and also New photographer Kevin aka Trendy Arts.  Like I always say am all about different people different dimensions of the creativity that can give a new age on my end as a model and confidence lifestyle blogger.

Every artistic mind that I have worked with always blow my mind out super awesome talent ♥.

Once you learn and find peace and the beauty in your skin,  the feeling is priceless I can’t tell you enough how mind freeing it is and liberating.

PS : Next time I want to have different shades of the melanin let me work on that reminds me of Cindy Bonita Calling out  thousands and thousands of dark skin ♥.

Juju Make Up : Learning and Being Trolled

Have you ever tried something that you know for sure you’re still  not good at just not yet?  Or something that you’re learning and then innocently post it or share it with the ones you know are good at it! I love make up , I love being  natural above all I love learning new things,  new stuff and just about anything that my souls feels is great for me.

I happen to be making slow progress in my Make-Up journey and most recent I have not been getting enough time to actually practise due to working late hours as well as gym time which I love as well 😂 💪👌.

Having extra time for make Up and I had a little conversation and I came up with abit progress and I was like let me post for the first time in a make up all guru group to get more insight and correction

Shock on me!!!!!😱 😱

The comments, reaction and remarks would have send someone to an early grave. Out of the derogatory comments and remarks quite a number rallied behind me and were supportive and many went out of there way to actually shut down the comments and even more encouraging were many women willing to help and assist me learn and make changes on my make up. Things that struck me the most was the shaming  from my body,  skin color,  eyes,  teeth,  smile  how I looked to say but the least.

I failed to understand why a portion of women found and still find the need to be mean and hateful.

Someone actually called me ugly,  a baboon,  I looked gay and that I looked like man and the extreme was wether I was alive or dead. And the conversation changed from make tips to name calling others coming in defense of me. A day after that I was not only in one group trending but also  in another group this time a gossip group.

I actually wasnt moved by all that but my concern was of another woman who hasn’t reached my level of actualization when it comes to the self, confidence and just knowing who you are is enough.

It’s not wrong to learn,  it’s not wrong to correct but to rebuke someone and name call them that is totally not accepted. It’s wrong to call someone names and tell them off for their effort of learning not to try it again .

You just can’t quit just because it was not right, or it did not turn out right as per the standards set out. Am always a believer of do it until you do it right .You simply just cannot stop.

You keep trying and blocking out the negative noises from your space and pick up the positive encouragement and love, plus by all means the support and with a few help and insight on a great point of view take it up and become better by all means.

I have come to realize in life most people are so quick to lush out with negativity and bile while others will go the long run and actually show you you’re in the right track just adjust here and there. You’re better off with the latter.

What does that mean,  I’ll keep on sending love and confidence my way as I send it your way too keep following me in this journey . Make Up Juju I will perfect my skills with amazing souls who came out of their way to assist me I’ll share all the stories and people I’ll work with on this make up journey.

Don’t be intimidated by what you don’t know. That can be your greatest strength and ensure that you do things differently from everyone else.

“Cyber bullying and body shaming

Much love to you y’all 😘😘😘😘

Am at a point in life people’s negative comments don’t hit me, change me or move me.. At all..

What worries me is another woman who hasn’t reached my point of actualization when it comes to the self,  self esteem,  confidence and belief in who you are is enough , and that learning and starting no matter how bad it looks always gets better with time and eventually one will be a pro.

That level of knowing you’re beautiful no matter how the world perceived and looks at you.. 🙌🙌🙌🙌

I know am beautiful and the world doesn’t need to tell me to know so..

Though I appreciate the ones who see  my beauty.. Most especially in my dark skin and with all my pimples on..

Barikiweni Sana most especially the ones with the negated comments.. And watch this space.. 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌👌👌👌💪💪💪💪”.

No shame in Melanin.

“When she is told her skin is too dark; I do not hesitate to offer, that the sun loved her so much it kissed her more than the rest of us”.¬ Undocumedia._ed04344

For days I have been researching and reading over the internet on bleaching, melanin, dark skin and everything to do with the whitening industry and I cringed like seriously  how does bleaching one  own skin restore confidence ?  It `s too sad just the thought of when I look at the health effects brought tears on my eyes its heart wrecking to see many people bleaching and being so proud to talking about it._ed04353

I do not believe in the possibility of fixing your outside and expect the inside to remain the same. Beauty is an inside out kind of thing, for instance when you begin to eat healthy and exercise the first change you will see is your skin, when you do not take care of your body the same skin still gives you the sign all is not well in the inside. When you bleach out your melanin, you still haven’t dealt with the real interior issue within you._ed04372

Who taught you to hate your beautiful melanin? I come from the part of this country where we are known to be so full of melanin you can actually make cocoa drink from us, full of deeply enriched cocoa, melanin enriched and am proud of it. My grandmother is the most beautiful dark skinned women that I know did I mention my aunt, whoa  I find constantly standing next to her just to see whether some melanin glow would be transferred to my skin to make mine even darker._ed04360

The magic in melanin is one of an endless story of strength, beauty and love such that there is no shame in melanin. You gotta love how melanin sparkles in darkness, in light, in rainy or dull days, my whole opinion that does not mean that all the other natural shades of skin are less beautiful no, we all can shine in our different shades and still stand out._ed04354

Trouble comes when dark skin is shamed and made to look ugly and unpleasant which should never be the case and when the numbers in bleaching increase it reinforces that dark skin is indeed ugly. Just let yourself be, in your skin is a beautiful place to me with love and acceptance embrace the colour that you have for that’s what God saw best to give you, after creating you He looked and saw you were beautiful.

Slay your melanin.
